Weekend Getaway to Pahang & Seremban

16th June 2012 - It was a sunny day, it's a good outing day with the sapphire blue sky......

Since hubby is working, I usually spend my weekend on doing house-chores. Well, last weekend was a little different. Hubby told me that he was free and could bring me around. I was so excited and browsed on the website where to go about. I was planning for a 2 days 1 night trip yet most of the resorts were fully booked, perhaps it was father's day and many were going for vacation.

As usual, always free and easy. Saturday afternoon, we just drove to Raub. I wanted to visit the durian orchard to taste the yummy durian yet when I called the owner of the orchard, he told us that we need to book 1 week in advance. So, we didnt make it to the orchard. It was not too bad, I grabbed the chance to have my lunch at the famous curry house called Ratha. The restaurant is famous for their curry fish head and chicken curry. Since I'm vegan so I just tried the nasi briyani with vegie. The pickles and nasi was so delicious!!! Before we left, we bought the curry paste and also the sempelit groundnuts from the restaurant.

When we were about to leave, I saw a shop of the same row with the restaurant which provides the baking ingredients so I just walked in to have a look. The baking ingredients sold was cheap if were to compare with the one sold in Klang valley. I bought a packet of wholemeal flour for bread, a packet of muffix mix, a packet of cheese cake mix and also many cute paper cups for the cakes. I was happy with what I had bought there.

After leaving Raub town centre, we stopped by the roadside to savour my taste buds! Guess what? Haha, it is durian season! Along the roadside, you can see many durian stalls, nangka madu stalls too. We ate one D99 and 1 Musang King and it costs RM32.00. The taste was great!

Then, we continued our journey heading to Bentong...... We dropped by a 'pandan coconut' stall to quench our thirst with the fragrant coconut water. It was so refreshing!

After driving pass the Bentong town, we went to the 'Chamang Waterfall'. No doubt, it is a nice waterfall suitable for swimming, picnic or just relaxing. But, be aware of the strong current which could be very dangerous and could cause death. There was a board showing the statistic on the death toll of the site. Anyway, we had a good time relaxing there.

About 6 in the evening, we departed for home. It's indeed a relaxing trip for a weekend getaway!

17th June 2012 - is just another outing day yet the wheather is totally unlike the day before.

Well, today is meant for another outing!!! Of course, stay closer to the nature again! Yesterday, we had headed to the north-east of Pahang. Today, we have a total different direction to head for. Instead of Karak Highway, we headed down to Seremban with another destination to explore. Unlike the crystal clear sky of yesterday, it had been drizzling all the way from the North South Highway heading to even the entrance of Hutan Lipur Jeram Toi. However, the misty rain doesn't seem to be able to halt me from approaching my place of interest!

It's quite some distance from the town of Seremban to Jeram Toi, the roads are a little winding for a certain distance. Anyway, I was so glad to be able to get out of city again! Along the road, I saw small 'kampung', orchards, fruits stall (especially durian and mangosteens, both my favourites) and also the slow-pace living style of the villagers. After all, it's all worth the trip in spite of reaching the most anticipated waterfall!
After about 1.5 hrs, we had finally arrived at Hutan Lipur Jeram Toi. Wow, the surrounding was just breathtaking! Just imagine yourself standing surrounded by many many treesssssssssss, full of top grade fresh oxygen and the air was just cooling and welcoming. I would just said that I really love the beauty of the nature, it's really lucky enough for me to enjoy the gift of the nature. And I hoped this wasn't the last......

There were many families enjoying their wonderful weekend there picnicking, swimming, bathing, barbecuing, camping and many more. Everyone seems to be happy at this place. I was able to share their joy from their smilling faces......

We spent for about 2.5 hours there, I just tried to breath in as much oxygen as I could for the short duration of stay. On the journey back, we didn't forget to bring home along with the fresh kampung durians and the juicy mangosteens! Another satifisying journey for the week!
